My power went out at 4:30pm and we didn't get it fully back until 1:00am. >:( One of the wires going to one of the two main fuses for the house was bad and it was affecting the amount of power we were getting. Things would start to power up, but then they wouldn't get enough electricity and shut off again. ;3; I managed to somehow get my computer set up with all of the plugs going to different outlets. Extension cords. <3

FP&L came early at 6:00pm (they said they would get there at 8:30pm) to try and fix it, but they just said it was a bad fuse and left the fuse on the bench outside of the front door. No phone calls that they were going to get there early or anything. We missed them because we were at Taylor's soccer game. 8|

My dad went out and bought new fuses and it still didn't work. My dad called and they said they would send out another team and would be there at 11:00pm at the latest. Apparently they came at 10:24pm and tested the fuse, but nobody heard them at all. Thing is, to test the fuse they would have to take it out, effectively shutting off power to the house. Some lights and things were still working so we know they didn't check the fuse at all. >:(

My dad called back and complained some more and a different guy made it out at 1:00am. He took a look at the fuse box for a few minutes and said the little connector things attached to the fuse had been moved a bit. In just those few minutes he fixed everything and we had full power again. <3

I was going over my biology lab specimen sheets before the final today and I felt the need to post this one in particular:
Oink :( )

That's exactly what it looked like when it was sitting in the dissection tray. The group who had the pig didn't have to dissect it so they just laid one out there and looked at it. :O

Also the final went better than I expected. The animals and stuff were pretty easy to remember. All of them were in the kingdom animalia and had scientific names that were pretty well known (cephalopoda, arthopoda, mammalia, etc.), unlike the ones on the midterm that ranged from bacteria, protists, plants, and fungae and had dumb names that were hard to pronounce or remember. :3

I take my last biology test tomorrow. No final in that class. :D I have a physics final on Tuesday, but the professor pretty much gave us all of the questions so I'll be good for that. My last final, for statistics, is next Friday and that is going to be amazingly easy. I got a 99 on the first or two tests and a 90 on the second one. ;)

SO FAR SO GOOD.

Now let's keep it that way.

Hrng I missed the deadline to accept my book advance money. I will hopefully be able to find the books online until the leftover financial aid money comes.

Picking classes is always so terrible.

AAAAHHH NOT THE BEES

I wanna scream 'I love you' from the top of my lungs

I finally have internet again~ There's no way I would have survived if I didn't get to hang out with friends the past week. <3

Last Wednesday I drove Nicolle, Lia, and Pam around while they got drunk in the back before we saw New Moon. There was also Museic time~ <3 I actually liked the movie and the three of them couldn't stop giggling throughout it. ;) The night was full of music, alcohol, vampires, werewolves, laughter, Sebastian the crab, and friends~ ♥

And then Thursday came and it was Thanksgiving! I ate a delicious turkey dinner with my family. :D

On Friday we all met at Lia's place before we headed out for bowling. Brandon and Ajoi came along too~ Before we started the Museic/alcohol time we stopped over at this Indian restaurant. I ordered this pretty awesome chicken stuff served in an almond sauce. Everybody loved my sauce. After we ate, we stopped over at a gas station to get some gatorade and I bought some gum. As soon as I opened a piece of gum my car started smelling like fruit. xD Bowling time! I ended up winning both of the games we played~ >:3 This night was filled with music, alcohol, chicken, nyoro~n, friends, and Pam love~

The next night Lia and I visited Nicolle while she was working~ After hanging out for about an hour, the three of us headed over to Asaka's and met up with Erica and Trevor for karaoke. <3

No Internet

The power cord to my dsl modem may have gone bad. I was online when all of a sudden the lights on the modem all went out and wouldn't come back on. I tried other outlets and stuff but still nothing. I called the Bellsouth people and they think it may be the cord so they are sending me a new one. They said it should arrive either today or Friday. Hopefully it's the cord and not the modem itself because replacing a cord is free, but getting a new modem will cost money. :(

Right now I'm at FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus and using the computers in the library~

BUT NOW IT'S TIME TO LEAVE. BAWWWWWW

So.

I am thinking about changing my major back to computer science. ) As much as I enjoy marine biology I am just terrible at it. I'm great at the dissections and experiments in the labs, while my lab partners don't know how to use a microscope. However, the situations are reversed when it comes to what your grade is actually based on for the lecture and lab: knowing the scientific names of things and the functions. Hrrnng no matter what I do I can never remember them.

With my change back to computer science I also plan on working toward some classes for a few minors. The ones I'm looking at right now are chemistry, statistics, and economics.

Chemistry only needs General Chemistry I & II, Introduction to Analytical Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry I & II. I've already completed the general chemistry courses and was planning to start organic next semester anyway.

Statistics needs Introduction to Statistics I, Statistical Methods I & II, and then two courses from: Introduction to Probability and Statistics for CS, Introduction to Mathematical Statistics I, Introduction to Mathematical Statistics II, Introduction to Design of Experiments, Introduction to Regression Analysis, Introduction to Nonparametric Methods, or Statistical Quality Control. Currently I'm taking Intro. to Statistics I and am passing with flying colors~

An economics minor needs Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and two additional economics courses. So far I've only completed the Principles of Macroeconomics course~

But whatever. I have to wake up in 4.5 hours for physics lecture and then later my biology lab. At least I will get to forget my problems and play Brawl tomorrow. :>

I was in Borders about a week ago and I saw this and had to take a picture: It's the law. )

Mmm the karaoke party last night was really fun~ I didn't sing anything but I still had a lot of fun and I got to see people I don't see often. :D

And earlier in the day I went trick or treating with my family. It was my little brother's first Halloween where he was able to fully participate. He went as a ninja turtle! And Taylor, the second youngest, went as Dan Marino. :> My neighborhood was pretty dull this year though. Most of the houses on the streets had their lights off. And some of the ones with their lights ON either had no candy at all or just didn't answer their door. B| They still got a lot of candy though~ :P

Now there's school tomorrow!! :D?

Oh My

haha So my brother at UCF sent me a text yesterday. He wanted me to send him my LICENSE so he can buy BEER. He offered me $50 to send it. Lol. I said no of course, but still. He kept sending me texts asking me to mail it, even bringing out the "well my friend's brother did it for him".

I stopped replying after that.

god damn why

My parents asked me to drive my brother to his bus stop and wait with him until it gets there. The bus is supposed to get there at 8:15am, but it ended up showing up at 8:40am. 8| I still had to shower and get ready for school BUT NOW I'LL BE LATE NO MATTER WHAT so whatever. I'm not driving 45 minutes both ways to a class that will be half over by the time I get there. >:(

School started last week~ It's nice being back at FIU although they could have done their financial aid system a lot better. To buy your books with your financial aid you have to go online and accept a book advance for whatever amount of money it says (or less :U). They put the money on your ID card and you can then use the card to buy books and whatnot. The problem is that the book advance wasn't enough to cover the cost of all of my books. >:( I wish it were like BCC's financial aid system. At BCC they take the cost of your classes out of your financial aid and then you have whatever is left over to buy books for two weeks or so before they start making the checks for the leftover amount. Whatever. I ended up downloading my physics book from thepiratebay.org so hopefully that'll be fine for this semester.

My biology II class is going to be good it seems~ The professor is a marine biologist! :D She mentioned working in her lab for extra credit so I'm going to email her about it and get information and whatnot. :3 My physics lab teacher said she was also studying marine biology and wanted to work with sharks, but she ended up doing physics instead. She mentioned that FIU had a diving class so I may check that out later I guess.

Statistics. Oh boy. Easy stuff so far, but the professor has a horrible tendency to jump around to different topics and explain things kinda bad. His tests are all open book/notes though. And one of the middle tests is a take-home test! :D

My physics class is alright and the professor is kind of off-the-wall. xD It's like his mind is always racing and his mouth can't keep up. I just wish the stupid Marine Biology building wasn't so far away from everything else or at least had it's own parking lot. :(

Biology II lab seems really easy, and we get to dissect things too. >:D

In other news, it's good to see my favorite spot in FIU is still always empty. <3 It's in a corner in the Wolfe University Center, in the hallway with the psychological services center and the administration offices. Barely anyone ever goes through there and it's really quiet, which makes for good reading~ Nicolle probably knows where it is. :P

Corner! :D

haha Oh man, that reminds me! This guy who works in the Wolfe University Center administration office was walking by and started talking to me about how he never sees anyone reading anymore (I was reading a book). He's walked by a few times and every time he comments on how I keep making progress lmao. Then today he stopped and introduced himself. His name is Greg, he's kinda tall, has spiky hair and he wears glasses. I tried to find a picture of him but all I could get was this page. I think he's the same Greg listed toward the bottom there. And as he was leaving he welcomed me to FIU. xD

Mmm Books

I just got back from Barnes and Noble~ I bought The Witches of Eileanan and The Pool of Two Moons by Kate Forsyth~ LMFAO NICOLLE I DON'T CARE

They're the first two books of what's essentially a nine part series (six books focusing on one set of characters and three books focusing on another set of characters a little bit in the future). I read them all during my first semester at FIU~ And I'm going to buy them and read them all again. I actually went there (and also spent most of the day online) looking for books with a similar Celtic feel that isn't all D&Dish. I couldn't really find anything that looked interesting until I saw the Kate Forsyth books hiding at the bottom of a shelf. >:3
